REN is a free to play massively multiplayer online trading card game. To play, you only need your web browser and you need to pay… nothing since it is a free-to-play. Created by a French video game developer studio Morphee Interactive, it is a simple but rich casual game.

2) Game Features
When a player creates a card, he can choose between one of the three races: Yao, Nüva or the Shen. Each race has specific strength and weakness against the other two.

The trading card aspect is really a strong point since every card you play with is a player’s card. Players can sell their card and buy the other players ‘ones at the Market. In the Chest, they can save up to 200 cards to build their deck up.

REN offers a rich experience with 5 different game modes:

• Versus: where players fight against each other just for fun.
• Kinoe: Solo mode where players fight against each other randomly.
• Mizunoe: mode for clan players only. It is like the Kinoe but with stronger opponents and better rewards.
• Kanoe: Training against the AI. Ideal for the beginners.
• The tournaments: Actually, the tournament of Fire is open with exceptional rewards but it’s a temporary mode.

Every week, players win tokens that will allow them playing at the lottery and getting a chance to win better outfits. Also with the sponsorship, players can invite their friends and receive bonuses. Both will receive each other’s card and other bonuses like tokens and money.

3) Gameplay

It is really simple to learn how to play REN: you have card board with 9 cards space (here on the right). Each player has a deck with 5 cards (here on the left). Every turn, a player picks one card and places it on the board.

When two cards are side by side, a fight starts and the player with the strongest card gains a certain amount of points (like on the image on the left). The game goes on until the board is full. The winner of the game is the player who has the biggest amount of points. Plus, you can add Runes that grant your cards with bonuses that can change the result of the game.

4) Fun Elements
The background of REN is filled with RPG elements and sometimes geek culture. That last point is illustrated by the board screenshot; just have a look at the opponent’s name. Also, the trailer can give you an idea of the fantastic background story . Also, since it is an MMO, players are able to regroup in clans to be more powerful in game and get extra advantages like extra tokens, experience bonus if all the cards of the deck are your clan’s cards.
