Be a legendary overlord in the dark horror dungeon, survive in the Underworld sanctuary that you shall transform into a dungeon fortress to be feared by all those who live both above and below the surface.

The Facebook game Dungeon Overlord is a massively multiplayer online strategy game (MMORTS) where players role play as overlord, aiming at to turn the underworld into their own realms and ultimately conquering the world with best strategy and skills.  In order to become a mighty hero in the Dungeon empires, you will have to train your troops such as goblins, orcs, ogres and other undead creatures living in the underground.

Like most of browser games including Evony, Batheo,  Warflow, Dungeon Overlord follows the same pattern of constructing buildings where you could have your troops, workers and technologies to launch attacks to other empires around yours or beyond. With the development of your dungeon, you gradually realized that both of your people and troops need food, settlements and Gold with which they maintain the basic activities.

There are a lot of exotic buildings to be built in the strategy game Dungeon Overlord, Taverns, Vaults and undead creatures Training Camps are the most necessary buildings where you are in charge of thriving your business.

As an online multiplayer game, Dungeon Overlord requires you to gather resources either through mines or BlackMarket. If you got some more resources, you could make good use of them and craft them into what you need to boost your dungeon building.  It should be noted, however, your dungeon is not always being protected. You will have to keep your eyes on guard every hour, making sure your dungeon is free of being attacked and looted.

When I played my first browser game Ikariam, I found I would have to develop technologies so as to get more bonues and try on some new advanced buildings. The same story happens to Dungeon Overload where you are also required to do some reach on your new technologies, which offers you a chance to get more minions and room to summoning powerful new creatures.

In Dungeon Overlord, of course, not all minions are cut out for research and technology. Some are born and bred for the single purpose of smashing puny weaklings. Overlords can send their armies out to raid and pillage tiny defenseless villages or powerful military fortresses. Brave souls may even attack other overlords for supplies, minerals, gold, or just for the sheer fun of destruction. But beware… what may have seemed like a simple raid on a weak dungeon may turn into an all-out war!

The Facebook game Dungeon Overlord developer Night Owl Games is supposed to be headquartered in China and hired a group of Chinese programmers to directly copy the Chinese city-building game features. It is pity for Sony to degenerate into such situation of plagiarizing Chinese free to play city building games and its business model.

Along the path to world domination, players will gather allies to strike down enemies. They will tame fearsome dragons and restless spirits to unleash upon their nemeses. They will even traverse enormous continents, combating scores of other hopeful overlords as they go. The road may be long, and the dangers may be great, but the reward is well worth it… the title of Dungeon Overlord!

” My first impressions on Dungeon Overlord are pretty awesome, but I’ve got to point out that its a bit of a steep change in pace in the tutorial. Going from completing small 1 minute constructions to 15 minute apiece upgrades and 10 hour mining expeditions is not a good way to reel players in. And pushing in offers of expensive upgrades into their faces as soon as they log in simply causes them to feel inferior, and that they can only win the game with lots of real world cash. Could use quite a few tweaks, but overall a very good idea.

Have been unable to start playing this application. Upon visiting the main page for it, it starts loading a green ball in the centre of the screen. When this is full it displays a message “Filling out the forms in triplicate”, a blank popup with the title “XD Proxy” pops up, and nothing further happens. This appears to happen regardles…s of browser used (Firefox 4, Firefox 3, Chrome). Using the technical support forums requires registering on a non-facebook site, as does attempting to submit a ticket for support. This might possibly be a good game on it’s original site, but the facebook version appears to be both currently unplayable, and without any contactable support.

Zynga,take notes this is how you make a game! Awesome play, originality, nice graphics and it does not end in Ville. Leave your Farms, Frontiers, Fish and silly little towns behind boys and girls Dungeon Overlord is here to stay!

If your old school and loved Dungeon Keeper, or played a little of Overlord and Evony, you are going to love this game Dungeon Overlord seamlessly blends traditional, strategic game play with newly-popular social gaming. The game operates on the Facebook App platform, which lets players interact with and boast their achievements to their friends. That said; don’t confuse this game with other Facebook games that offer relatively shallow game play. Dungeon Overlord provides players with a deep level of strategy, similar to many classic RTS games. Players can form alliances, engage in competitive dungeon raids against each other, and much more.
