Wargaming.net announces today a plan to develop World of Battleships, a free-to-play MMO after the World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, in struggle to complete its “World of ” war trilogy. The naval-war themed game will put players in the captain’s chair of the most powerful warships ever seen in the history to engage in the battle that changed the history of human beings.

Set in the battleship era of the 20th century, the game will offer a large assortment of warships for players, with some of which enjoying high prestige in World War II. As revealed by the official statement, the game has continued the best traditions of the series, offering a straightforward interface and easy-to-use controls.

Based purely on battleship setting, World of Battleships will allow players to play as the captain to deploy and command their battleships, manage their weapons and even do a little bit upgrading if they want. Its dynamic combat system provides everything possible for players to eliminate the opposing force and score a victory.

The vast warships available in the game feature a unique combination of firepower, speed, armor and endurance. Another highlight of the game features a wide variety of naval maps with changing weather conditions, presenting players with unprecedented challenges and excitement.
