The promising land of Eyrda, created by loving God Dyos, is now coveted by Nyos, the God of evil, for its possession of immortal relics—the magic wheel. The fantasy land now has its fate hanging up in the air, and it is where Forsaken World, a new free-to-play MMORPG from Perfect World Entertainment,  starts its story.

To prevent the brewing conspiracy and hidden malice from getting their way, you, deemed as the savior of Eyrda, are expected to rise to the occasion and to nip the evil forces in the bud through open-ending quests and missions.

The free MMORPG Forsaken World is similar to Perfect World International and Legend of Martial Arts.

The 3D fictional MMO game Forsaken World is action-packed, and at the same time incorporates superb role-play elements. Among the five races living on Eyrda, you can pick up a favorite one, be it the fearless stoneman, the noblest Elf, the aged dwarves, the insatiable human or the sensitive kindred. Each has their own edges and can gain supremacy over others with their special talents.

When it comes to the fighting part, Forsaken World has nothing to do with boredom and fatigues. Fighting modes vary from nail-biting PvPs , whether in solo or in group, to epic PvEs, where dragons, monsters, and other evils lurk and slink, ready to deal a hard blow on you any time possible. So the best suggestion here is to always stay vigilant and have a pre-emptive attack before it is too late.

Apart from all these intense warefare, you also have a handful of daily activities to deal with in order to pull Forsaken World off. Having seen this coming, Forsaken World offers you as many as 10 professions to choose from. Each will empower you in a certain way and give you convenient access to abilities in one way or another. Wanna get more people on board, then be a socialite; Wanna trade junks for hard cash, then be a merchant instead. It’s all your call anyway.

The storyline of Forsaken World is set in a fantastic continent and revolves around the battle between two gods of opposite alignment. Each bears devastating power, which is so overwhelming as to tear the world apart. No one could foresee its end and the relentless battle lasted millions of year. Until now, it’s still ongoing. The evil god imbued him with wicked enchantment which turned him into a even mightier dragon. As the evil side gained upped hand in the battle, now it’s the time for you to arm yourself and reclaim the artifacts lost in the battle between deities and repel your enemies once and for all.

This online game features 5 races, all of which bear their own distinct combat skill. Besides, there are totally 8 classes, among which players can choose the ever present fighter, cleric, archer, mage or the newer ones like vampire, whose skills drain their own life essence, however most of which come with HP leech effect in return. Vampire is also a jack-of-all-trades class, they can do hand-to-hand combat and also cast minor spell, buff, or healing. But they are no match for Mages, Bards, or Priests who are specialized spell-caster and are not able to compete with fighters, who do most melee damage output.

Each developer attempts to introduce new elements into the game to make it stand out from other. And Forsaken World is no exception. There are some pretty unique ideas, which I think most people have never heard before. You can set the birth date of your character. Once you pray to the gods ingame, you will be randomly awarded with EXPs, buffs or even rare items depending on your zodiac sign. The pet system is also a bit different; the longer time you hatch a pet egg, the better chance that you will be getting it with increased stats.

PC specification requirement of the game is not high; a duo core CPU with GeForce 7 series graphics card will be needed so that you can toggle most display effect. Honestly, the graphics looks great in most areas, for example, login screen, weapons, skills effect and water effect are well rendered; but a mess in some others, like mobs modeling. I hope game developer can put some care of some minor drawbacks, although I still doubt that a graphic upgrade will come with open beta version.

The game is the first western-style based game by Perfect World, a leading game developer in China and the open beta test is scheduled to begin on 9 March, 2011.
