Aika Online is a newly released free-to-play online fantasy role-playing game published by GPotato, which has a large number of players around the community. Aika Online, developed by JoyImpact presents a large scaled PvP system that ranges from small dungeon groups of 6, all the way up to wars of 1,000 vs. 1,000.
There are 9 classes available in Aika, such as fighter, scout, spellcaster, warrior, dual gunner, warlock, paladin, rifleman and cleric.
Aika is a truly monumental game from Gala-Net, publishers of Flyff and Rappelz, and JoyImpact, developer of Neo Steam: The Shattered Continent (published by Atlus Online in the US). Designed to re-imagine the “massively” in MMORPG, Aika presents three major PvP modes which run the gamut from small skirmishes to 1000 vs. 1000 warfare.
This comprehensive PvP system is unique among current MMORPGs for its gigantic scope, and it is this element – along with a fantastically detailed world and sweeping storyline – which has earned the game many enthusiastic reviews for its quality of play.
With over 1,000 quests, hundreds of monsters, and 15 gorgeously rendered areas, Aika holds its own as a thrilling single-player experience. However, it is the depth of the PvP system that sets this game apart. The world of Aika features five nations – each possessing its own distinct personality and populated by thousands of players – which, along with a comprehensive guild system, lays the groundwork for truly epic military clashes.
Guilds and nations may ally with each other in exciting Castle Sieges to gain control of a nation and lord over its subjects, while entire nations may scheme with and against each other to win wars with glory, treasure, and powerful ability enhancements at stake.
Aika’s launch in North America marks its premiere into the Western hemisphere. It is currently being published in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Aika is presented in dramatically stunning graphics; however, the game client boasts a small client. Aika offers comprehensive PVP both across and within nations
Nation battles plan to support 1,000 players on each of the two sides in massive siege combat. Aside from RvR PvP, there are quests, a crafting system, and more.
Below is a player’s review
One of the best free to play I have played, especially if you like pvp. The first hour will probably turn a lot off, but if you continue playing, you will have a lot of fun!
First of all, I have 3 characters. A level 18 warlock, level 34 rifleman and level 18 cleric.
PROS:
-Addicting
-Easy to level
-Lot of players
-Good balance of characters
-Large Scale PVP/Raids. When I first saw so many people I was *SHOCKED*. There was no lag either, I was impressed.
-A lot of people doing dungeons / LFG
-Good interface
-Pran(pet) system)
-Cash shop does not turn somebody into a god
-Lot of skills per class
-Large fluctuation of items (easy to buy decent items)
-Large amount of quests (main way of leveling)
-Leveling is hidden through MANY quests, there is no “kill 200 mobs of this”
-Great crafting system
-WASD movement OR point and click. (WASD ftw)
CONS:
-Few graphical glitches
-A LOT of gold spammers / botters.
-Outdated graphics. Everyone looks the same. It doesn’t bother me personally, but I consider it a con.
-Hard to make gold (mobs don’t drop gold)
-Hard to upgrade weapons to a high +. High fail rate.
When I first started playing it, I was kinda turned off. It looked like a typical FREE mmorpg, point and click, yadayada. However, I gave it a try and played for a bit and I LOVED it. There really aren’t that many cons.
One of the best free mmorpgs I’ve played, definitely recommend it to everyone. I’ve played countless free MMO’S and this one is definitely at the top. I decided to try a few classes to see which I liked more. Each class plays differently.
I’ve only played 3 classes so I can speak for them:
Warlock – AoE / Magic Dps. They totally dominate in the AoE and single target magic nuking department, and will be even more devastating in the future (updates)
Cleric – Aside from healing and supporting, clerics have a very strong AoE skill at level 27. They can be quite the ‘battle cleric’
Rifleman – Single target spiker. He is the class that does insane ‘critical’ damage and one/two shots mobs. Attacks slow, but hits hard. Only class next to dual gunner that can ‘cloak’ and get past enemy guards.
Now from what I learned and read:
Dual Gunner: Similiar to rifleman, but dual gunner attacks fast and hits low.
Warrior – AoE damage, party buffs, tank.
Paladin- Not sure about paladin, but I know they’re the tankiest class by FAR

I have been playing Aika Online for about a week. I have 6 characters because I couldn’t decide which I liked. Unfortunately the one I liked was the warlock, which is a male class.. So unless I want to be a dude, I have to stick with a cleric, paladin or dual gunner. The game is gender specific which is the only thing so far that has turned me off. I love this game. Coming from Fiesta Online, I initially tried so many games.. none with the fun factor of Fiesta. This game has been the only game I have enjoyed. Some of the games I tried that really sucked were : Grand Fantasia, Runes of Magic, Domo, Ether Saga, Perfect World, Rappelz, Flyff, Luna, Angels Online, Florensia and many many more.. Perfect World was ok.. but got boring fast with having to travel the planet to get somewhere. Florensia land was really fun.. but my fingers almost broke trying to handle the sea battles.. hated them. Anyway, what I saying is Aika is a good alternative if you are looking for a fun game and don’t mind the classes being locked to genders. Fiesta Online is still the best. : ) thanks.
Game sucks. GM’s are not active games full of problems and no one to fix them. I played for almost a year and It was just one disapointment after another. Waist of time and money. The cost of buying decent gear is like $300.
This game is brutally expensive and hardly anyone plays it. Its definitely not worth your time. They trick you into thinking its Free to Play but after like level 40 you iether have to pay $100 to compete with other players or stop playing and waist your time. Theres no way to make money in game its all cash shop.
This game stole $200 from me then wouldnt respond to any of my e-mails. Complete rip off.
I started playing Aika in April 2010 but after getting to lvl 50 and breaking a superior +7 warrior sword… twice… i gave up for a while. I just started a new acct a couple weeks ago and now have lvl 32 warr, 32 wl, and 28 rm sharing a lvl 23 fire pran.
One of the guys above said the GMs are not active. Perhaps this is true but, I had an issue with my pin last year that locked one of my chars by mistake. I emailed and it was taken care of within 24 hours. I was definitely satisfied. Also, the gold spammers? I agree there used to be a ton of them and you just had to block them. In the two weeks since I started my new account… I’ve seen less than 5. I dunno what they did to deter this, but it worked.
Also as far is the game being “brutally expensive”? Someone said past lvl 40 you have to spend money to compete with players who have purchased gpots to use in the cash shop. This isn’t completely true seeing as most of the cash shop items can be purchased through the auction house and personal shop systems using in-game currency. I think that’s pretty fair to be honest. I’ve seen MMOs where paying players have an EXTREME advantage and that isn’t so here. So maybe you have to put in some work grinding to get enough drops to sell for the in-game cash to buy that rank D pellurite extract… big deal. If you don’t pay you gotta put in a little effort, seems fair enough. Just my two cents.
Well, I have played this game for a few months now and I have to say that is not bad at all. So far the thing that is really making me like the game is how balanced the classes are. This game has the most balanced PVP I have ever seen. Also, the separation between PvE and PvP is quite good.
Some people think that just because you CAN PvP in the PvE server people will actually do it. I have been playin in the PvE server all this time and cant really remember being pkd even once. Yes, I have been ‘attacked’ a few times, but seldom with real killing intent. The penalties for pking in the PvE are quite severe and people can pk as much as they want in the PvP server so, why bother?
Another thing that I like a lot is the quests. Other games became boring when you had to kill the same mobs again and again and again just to see your exp bar move up. Here you get quests, a LOT of them and you can do them simultaneously. True, the quests are not mind challenging and most of them just require you to kill a certain amount of mobs but you get additional exp for completing the quest and money.
For me, killing mobs knowing that you will get a reward for it makes it a lot more attractive than staying in one place for a week killing the same mobs for nothing but the exp and drops, like it happened in other games.
Another thing I like about the game is that the cash shop actually ‘sells’ some items. In other games the cash shop on ‘rent’ items for a certain amount of days. Here you ‘rent’ some stuff but you can actually ‘buy’ permanent items too.
The bad things are few I think. First, the camera movement is not very good, it shakes a little bit when you are running around and some times is a little hard to control. Second, storage space is very limited, you will find yourself selling or even destroying items to free space. And finally, the pran (companion) character is pretty much useless -.-
Anyway, I have a warrior lvl 49 (cap is at 70 now I think) and I still have fun playing.
one question – since i am considering downloading – is the game dead? I keep on hearing people say about the lack of players.
No it’s quite alive. Ilay it every day and in 3 days have gotten a level 20 warlock a level 13 rifleman and a level 15 warrior, and gotten a pellurite D drop in dungeons alot
